Situation:
As part of a robust SIOP installation, a safety products manufacturer engaged Kormac to improve its planning and scheduling practices, increase inventory turns, and achieve sustainable inventory management.
Actions:
- Analyzed inventory; delivered item-level and group-level product insights for inventory control and reduction using proprietary 9-Box Analysis and Trade Off Tools
- Revealed opportunities to address obsolete inventory and imbalances between usage and inventory levels
- Collaborated with Planners, Buyers, and Materials Managers across 3 plants to enhance Master Data planning parameters in SAP
- Trained engineers on Work Center and Routing functionality to ensure accurate planning requirements by part number, router, and bill of materials
Results: Our analysis enabled a $20 million (10%) reduction in inventory.
