Minimized nursing staff risks during software rollout
Situation:
On the heels of an enterprise IT rollout, a hospital planned to implement a new supply chain software. To prevent any negative impact on nursing, the hospital wanted process experts to work with the nursing staff.
Actions:
- Conducted an Organizational Assessment to determine potential areas of risk or disruption
- Developed three action plans to limit risks to staff during implementation:
- Nursing staff alignment
- Supply chain systems implementation and activities
- Organizational alignment
Results: Achieved on-time and on-budget software implementation while minimizing staff risk, reducing supply chain inventory, and improving case cart accuracy.
