Maximizing On-Time Delivery
Customer delight begins with honoring our commitments. With that truth in mind, a leading healthcare services company turned to Kormac for help in improving its on-time delivery to customers. From forecasting and purchasing to inventory management and product delivery, our client sought to deliver an outstanding experience for its pharmaceutical and biotech customers.
Kormac began this Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) makeover by process-mapping the company’s entire value chain to understand natural constraints, functional interplay, data sources, and forecast variables. We followed with kaizen-type workshops to develop and define functional KPIs for identification of looming supply and performance constraints. Kormac’s SIOP implementation model, coupled with extensive functional training and coaching, enabled the pilot of a new SIOP review process in just 8 weeks. Our client proceeded from the pilot program to full organizational implementation by the third review cycle.
Here’s how their Vice President describes the project: “I had the pleasure of working with the Kormac Group to implement a SIOP process to improve overall customer experience. Within just a few months, they had partnered with our internal teams to review people, processes, and technology, and implemented a recommendation that had an immediate and positive impact on our operations and clients. Working with Kormac, you know you can expect a small, focus-driven team that will deliver results.”
Key elements of the Kormac approach to SIOP enhancement:
- Extensive process mapping
- Training on our four-phase SIOP execution model
- Introduction of risk identification and risk management tools
- KPI development workshops
- Execution planning by converging all supply-side functional priorities
